Here’s the English translation:
About 50 friends came throughout the opening reception evening. A little marathon of over 6 hours, and great momentum for the entire Saturday :D.
Let’s start with the goodies-gifts
No exhibition without the traditional booklet/invitation, this time shaped like a Macintosh icon. It comes with a Mac-shaped keychain pendant and the famous cursor. We often forget to emphasize that it’s this little arrow of a few pixels that translates human-machine interaction on screen. Before the arrival of touch screens, it was the extension of the hand in digital space.
The “Wheels for the mind” t-shirt
A forgotten slogan (and practically unknown in France outside of a few academics) conceived by Clement Mok in line with Steve Jobs’ vision who saw the computer as a bicycle for the mind.
Steve speaks about it explicitly in an interview from the late 1980s during the NeXT period that can be found online.
This slogan was used as the title of Apple publications for the academic world of the Apple University Consortium from 1986 to 2007.
This parallel is so obvious and strong that it naturally became the illustration for the t-shirts I wanted to offer for the expo.
Icon Ink Pads - Tribute to Susan Kare
The Mac’s success is largely due to the high quality of its icons created by graphic designer Susan Kare. Obviously we recognize the era, but their minimalism and effectiveness remain timeless. It’s impossible to propose better graphics in such a reduced space of 32x32 pixels. Compare with icons from other systems, none are as elegant. All have taken quite a beating over time. Not Susan Kare’s.
It’s therefore as a tribute to this great lady of graphic design and ergonomics that I created a series of 6 copies of ink stamp pads of 6 of her icons, accompanied by a wooden 6-sided die. If you’re interested in acquiring one of these copies, contact me.

Projection
For the first time, integration of projection on an entire wall to complement the expo with video elements. Simple but effective.
Toys
Le_Lisp
I’ve had this version of Le_Lisp for over 30 years, and I never imagined it could still work. Great emotional moment with my friend Robert when we launched the Tower of Hanoi program :D
The fascination of younger people
Even though it’s 40 years old, the characteristic black and white Mac interface still fascinates younger people just as much. Just like Space Invaders and Pong which have incredible success when presented at events. It’s because with these old machines, games and software, we touch what is most fundamentally simple and effective.
Mac Calligraphy ) Unexpected encounter between Zen and pixel.
Strangely, just as I had finished installing the expo with one of my rare pieces, the Mac Calligraphy software from 1987, it started buzzing on social media among Apple collectors. We saw several copies appear like at the Apple Museum in Poland (that museum is incredible). Always very funny these coincidental competitions.
Update
This post is still being written, but you can enjoy the photo album of the opening reception below.
